Each of the ten state-sponsored Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies in New Hampshire are dedicated to improving the quality of care that is available to families and children. Much of this commitment is reflected in our work with child care providers across the state. Some of the services we offer child care providers are:
• Training
• Technical Assistance
• Accreditation Assistance
• Credentialing Assistance
• On-site visits
• Recruitment and training of new providers
• Quarterly Newsletters
• Community Resources
• Lending Library
CCR&Rs provide FREE trainings locally each month to help providers meet their educational and training needs. These trainings include the new and improved Child Care Basics and Beyond the Basics training modules developed by the CCR&Rs in New Hampshire. A variety of other workshops are also offered that meet the needs and interests of providers. Trainings and workshops meet at least one of the 10 Core Knowledge Areas according to the NH Early Childhood Professional Development System. CPR and First Aid are also offered, but may require a fee. Your CCR&R specialist can also give you information on accessing funding for college credit in ECE.
Technical Assistance to providers can be done through phone, email or personal site visits. Your CCR&R specialist can answer questions and provide information and resources on providing quality child care. This may include many general issues but also assistance with achieving Licensed Plus designation or Accreditation through NAEYC, NAFCC or Council on Accreditation (for School Age Programs).
CCR&Rs also assist child care professionals in the process of achieving and applying for their Credential through the NH Early Childhood Professional Development System.
In recruiting new providers, local CCR&Rs supply start-up information and packets to new providers to assist them in establishing a quality childcare environment. CCR&R may hold group orientations or informational nights for family child care providers. Site visits to family or center-based providers can provide technical assistance in starting their child care business.
CCR&Rs write and distribute quarterly newsletters to providers with important training and resource information.
In addition, each Resource and Referral office maintains an in-house Early Childhood Lending Library for providers to use. CCR&R’s are a great link for providers to community resources for further training or technical assistance, special needs resources, and avenues for advocacy.
Contact your local Resource and Referral Agency to take advantage of all of these services and more!
