| How does CCR&R get involved in the community? |
| CCR&R actively collaborates with other agencies in the service area to provide comprehensive services to families, children and child care providers and to provide a continuum of care families. |
| Does CCR&R advocate for child care providers?
|
| CCR&R advocates for quality early learning through the training and workshops it offers, through consumer education, and community partnerships. CCR&Rs collects data and maintains a database of information used statistically to educate the general public on issues in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education. CCR&R maintains information about child care issues including gaps in the child care system and projections of future needs. |
| How does CCR&R know what the child care needs are in each area? |
| CCR&R maintains and updates a database on a regular basis to efficiently track and follow the supply and demand of child care needs. As Quality Assured programs through Child Care Aware®, CCR&R staff listen actively to parents when doing an intake call to find out what the needs and issues are for families looking for care. Follow-up calls are also made to find out if families were able to find care and how they assessed their options. CCR&R also identifies child care issues when interacting with providers, other social service agencies, and with members of the community at large. |
| Where does funding for CCR&R come from? |
| CCR&Rs are funded with federal funds from the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) apportioned through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Child Development Bureau. States then allocate the funds though a bidding process to local agencies, which provide additional support and funding. New Hampshire funds are distributed though the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), Child Development Bureau (CDB). |
